World-Class Radiosurgery Cancer Treatment for Our Veteran’s
At Pasadena CyberKnife Center, we believe that hope is the most powerful thing anyone can have – and that’s particularly true for our veterans. We’re proud supporters of our veterans and extremely grateful for the selfless tradition of service that our veterans continue to uphold, and we look for every opportunity to give back when our veterans are in need. That’s why we’re excited to announce our participation in the Veteran’s Choice Program.
What Is the Veteran’s Choice Program?
The Veteran’s Choice Program, or VCP, is a government initiative aimed to reduce strain on Veteran’s Affairs hospitals. Due to a number of factors, VA hospitals have a service backlog that’s preventing them from giving timely, convenient medical care to our veterans – and that means many veterans are not getting critical medical care when they need it most.
The VCP aims to change this by allowing qualified non-VA medical facilities to provide care in the VA’s stead. If a veteran qualifies for the program, they can choose to go to another facility to receive their treatment and still have it covered under VA insurance.
Pasadena CyberKnife & the VCP
We’re excited to announce that we are now a part of the Veteran’s Choice Program – meaning that qualified veterans can opt to receive CyberKnife radiosurgery at our facility instead of another cancer treatment at a VA hospital. Our participation in this program will allow us to deliver lifesaving cancer treatment procedures to veterans when they need it most. We’re extremely excited to be able to give back to our veterans in this way, and we look forward to helping many more veterans find hope and reclaim their lives.
Am I Qualified for the Veteran’s Choice Program?
Qualification is determined on a case by case basis, but a few of the qualifying factors are:
- Your local VA facility has told you they can’t schedule an appointment within 30 days of your clinically indicated date.
- The closest VA facility is 40 or more miles away from you.
- You must travel by boat, ferry, or plane to go to your closest VA facility.
- You face an unusual or excessive burden in trying to get to your closest VA facility.
